Notes
issued by Corgi during 1969, this scarce set comprises:
1) Corgi 1148 Scammell Car Transporter with a gleaming red and white with all four yellow fixing clips intact. Very near mint – occasional very minor mark only.
2) Corgi 345 MGC GT in yellow and black with jewelled lights and intact suspension on spoked wheels. Near mint plus condition, with correct opening suitcase stowed.
3) Corgi 340 Sunbeam Imp ‘Monte Carlo’ in bright metallic blue. Near mint condition. Notably intact suspension on cast wheels. Wear to rear transfer with some loss. Few tiny marks to the paint finish.
4) Corgi 258 The Saint’s Volvo. Very scarce issue in white with a red bonnet label and cast wheels. Near mint plus condition. Couple of stray dots of silver paint on one door. Small as-made blemish to the paint near a headlight. Few tiny marks to the paint.
5) Corgi 249 Morris Mini Cooper De-Luxe in black with a red roof and complete ‘wickerwork’ side panels. Suspension on detailed cast wheels. Very near mint.
6) Corgi 226 Morris Mini Minor in metallic maroon with suspension on detailed cast wheels. Very near mint.
7) Corgi 339 Mini Cooper ‘S’ Monte Carlo in red and white with chrome roof rack and two spare tyres. Complete racing number paper labels on both sides. Intact number plates save for a couple of tiny nicks to the black background on the bonnet. Complete Monte Carlo labels at the front and a small nick to the rear. Near mint plus.All contents are housed in a complete and bright polystyrene inner (tiny wear).
This set comes with the little still-sealed bag of traffic cones and a Corgi Club Membership Form with Instructions for the police version of the Imp (Corgi 506).
The outer box is complete and strongly-coloured with a couple of little storage crumples and light wear. Notably, this outer box is tear-free and the original cellophane window is intact.
