Hard to find in any condition and certainly never in multiples – we are delighted to have for sale this South African Dinky model. Unfinished models were exported to South Africa from 1966. They were sent as castings and painted and assembled there, largely as a way of getting around the laws prohibiting export of finished goods to South Africa at this time. All housed in Dinky boxes with some Afrikaans text and of course most importantly the Arthur E.Harris print on the box.
Finished in vivid turquoise and cream with a bright red interior, suspension on shiny spun wheels. South African rivets, and as-new fine tread tyres.
In very close to mint condition:
Couple of minor marks only.
The correct Arthur E. Harris Dinky box is clean and brightly-coloured with quite a crisp feel.
Light wear generally (not as much as you might expect) and note that one of the internal end flaps has been re-attached now. Period hand-written informative label on an end flap.
