A desirable Gift Set and a difficult find in any condition, let alone this virtually mint state, this nostalgic set comprises:

1) 260 Royal Mail Van in close to mint condition. Presents well with such a pleasing lustre and unfaded colours. Royal Mail lettering and crest at both sides are virtually complete – complete. Bright baseplate. A few little marks to the paint finish and two very small raised casting marks on one side. Well-shaped original tyres.

2) 261 Post Office Telephones Van is in very near mint condition. Lettering and crest are complete on both sides. Bright baseplate. Well-shaped original tyres.

3) 750 Telephone Box has a shining bright red and silver paint finish. Does not appear to have ever been removed from the light yellow inner (very snug and firm fit). Very near mint at the very least.

4) 011 Messenger & 012 Postman have vibrant original colours and have been removed from the inner either. Very, very near mint.

Pictorial card outer box is complete and brightly-coloured. Deep blue lower half of the box is happily free of the usual shelf rubs to the underside or indeed colour fading to the portion not covered by the lid. The lid too is strongly-coloured and fresh with no tears or repairs. Period shopkeeper’s price to a lid end.

Pictorial insert is a delight! Looking as fresh as the day it were made, the colours are crisp, the card is in superb condition.

It is near-impossible to be sure of course, but this set gives all the signs of having been tucked away largely untouched in a drawer for decades.
Out of the light, out of sight and out of mind.
A real find.
