Notes
What a find! An unsold cache of 6 Dinky 36G Taxi models still within the original Dinky shopkeeper’s Trade Box. These post-war versions (1947-50) have a virtually perfect gleaming green and black paint finish, complete with cast in driver, and ‘TAXI’ sign on the roof, picked out in silver (original). A delightful find in this condition – certainly never played with; a cherished item that has received careful handling over the past fifty or so years!
Note this set contains three mid green and three darker green taxi models. Each one looks to be original to this Trade box i.e. not a later made-up set.
The outer Trade box is as fine as one could expect, with intact sturdy card, shiny staples and no tears. Remains of the tape that kept the lid closed Bright paper label at a lid end and note the factory ‘G’ stamp for green. Period price in pen.
