Nicky 186
Nicky/Dinky Toys 186 Mercedes-Benz 220 SE. Rare BRIGHT RED (non-metallic) version. Mint/boxed, with 2 packing pieces. Sensational item from a private collection.
Notes
Sought after models that are so difficult to find in good condition! Dinky dies were sold to the Indian Firm S. Kumar & Co. trading as Atamco. (1968-70). Often known as Indian-Dinky toys, the finish was poor in comparison.
A beautiful mint example (save for typical factory assembly marks on the underside) finished in a vivid (non-metallic) red with original silver details, off-white interior, black steering wheel, intact window glazing. Silver and black plastic one-piece tyres/wheels.
Only the second we have ever offered for sale in this colour finish, and the best we have seen.
Shiny black base.
The colourful correct box (ATAMCO P LTD. Calcutta) has barely any of the usual wear (for this range). Light edge rubbing and a couple of small handling tears. Note the two packing pieces – in typical fashion, two folded pieces of a random Nicky Dinky box were used for this.
