Dinky 28C
Dinky 28C Delivery Van "Manchester Guardian". 1st type. Excellent/never individually boxed. A rare item from The Lewes Collection.
Notes
It is such a delight to come upon these very early Dinky Delivery Vans and this one has clear, original gold lettering on both sides. The model is sound and intact with no parts broken or missing. The central clip on the roof has a hand-painted finish. These early vans made of lead composition do not suffer from the fatigue often found in the later second and third type vans.
This commercial Dinky was made for such a short time – between 1934-35 – so it is a particularly difficult find. Rich deep red pigment, complemented by complete glistening gold lettering on both sides and purple-washed wheels.
There is some scattered light chipping and Bright radiator surround, intact axles.
_A delight to own – these early advertising vans are in extremely short supply! _
