Dinky 919
Dinky 919 Guy Van "Golden Shred". Near mint plus/boxed. From 1957. One of the most eye-catching Dinky Advertising Vans from The Reigate Collection.
Notes
Issued between 1957-58, the golden age of Dinky! This is one of the most eye-catching Dinky models you can buy and it is always an exciting find. This sought-after van has a glossy, vibrant red paint finish and virtually perfect – perfect highly decorative transfers on both sides. Bright base and well-shaped, supple original tyres.
A very few little marks to the paint finish (almost exclusively at wheel arches) – and minute scrutiny finds a few little wheel arch touch-ins. Shiny metal parts throughout and that (most notably) includes the posts at the rear opening doors.
The box presents nicely with vivid colours on intact card. Some shelf-rubbing the the box base underside. Light wear besides. This example is dated 1957 (Dinky stamp on the inside of the box lid).
A highlight in any collection.
