What a rare Gift Set this is to add to your Dinky collection!
First issued during 1959, this 3 part Gift Set comprises:
1) Dinky 257 Fire Chief’s Car with shaped spun wheels and window glazing, blue light on the roof, perfect ‘Fire Chief’ labels on both doors.

A few minor marks only and one side of the car has ‘bloomed’ a little due to light exposure. There is a daub of red paint on the roof too.
2) Dinky 955 Fire Engine is in near mint condition with an all original paint finish ( bloomed a little on one side), ridged Supertoy wheels, bright baseplate and both ladder components and bells present. None of the usual chipping/wear to the bright silver ladder. A few minor marks to the red paint finish.

3) Dinky 956 Turntable Fire Escape is in close to mint condition with window glazing, silver platform, ridged Supertoy wheels. Both bells are present on the cab roof! Bright winding handle operates the raising and lowering of the two-piece extending ladder.

An added bonus, this set comes with Dinky 008 Accessory Set

which comprises 5 Firemen (originally there would have been 6) and a length of hose. All safely stowed in the little clear original printed plastic bag (carefully opened).
The all important outer box has fared very well. There are no splits and the colours are vibrant; box is generally clean and looks as if it has been carefully stored and handled.

Minor creasing and grubbiness. Puncture at the box base side has pressed back into place. Dinky stamp inside the lid dates this particular example from 1959 – the first year of production of this set. The inner is still present too, which has a little wear and tear caused by the weight and movement of the models.
