Dinky 28D
Dinky 28D Delivery Van "OXO Beef At Its Best". 2nd type. Excellent /never individually boxed. A rare item from The Phillips Collection.
Notes
This rare commercial Dinky was made between 1935-39. Light blue pigment and easily legible glistening gold lettering ‘OXO BEEF AT ITS BEST’ on one side and ‘OXO BEEF IN BRIEF’ on the other. Smooth black wheels and thin axles. Runs easily. Smooth white tyres. Some crazing to the metal (common for Dinky toys of this era when the alloys were inherently unstable). No parts missing.
Moderate paint chipping as you might expect for what is essentially an unboxed model of this age. Light wash of varnish (or similar) has been applied at some time on the inside of the bonnet and lower edges as a preventative measure.
