Corgi 497
Corgi 497 The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Thrushbuster. Very near mint/boxed. Dark blue issue with (replacement) Waverley ring. Plastic spotlights issue. From the personal collection of a professional TV & Film Set Designer.
Notes
Issued between 1966-69, this Oldsmobile car has a gleaming, deep purple-blue finish, complete bonnet logo (very nice!), bright chrome parts, detailed cast wheels. Fine original tyres. If you press the roof periscope the figure moves from side to side to shoot the enemy! This is the version with plastic chromed spotlights (to dazzle the enemy!).
Occasional minor mark only to the paint.
Original Waverley ring has been lost at some time, so a later replacement is included by the owner. Changing image on the ring face of Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin.
The colourful card plinth is complete and has one minute wheel tear slot. A little light wear besides.
Lots of info about the U.N.C.L.E organisation on box reverse as well as pictures and signatures of the T.V. series protagonists.
Outer box is complete and bright with minor age/handling wear and a small repaired tear on a non-picture side.
