Acknowledged in ‘The Great Book Of Dinky Toys’, this collector in the U.S. brings his 37 year collection to QDT. Included are some very rare items and a wealth of period literature and catalogues.
In all original,close to mint condition, this rare colour version was issued from 1948. 1st type has a distinctive burnt orange finish, bright mid-green back and flash, matching early ridged wheels and fine tread black radial tyres(well-shaped). 20 mph transfer is still in place.
Issued toward the end of the production run, with tank slits and chain post bosses on the underside. Early 1952 issue.
Just a few little wheel arch chips. Shiny metal parts, including axle ends.
The vibrant blue picture box shows the first type cab variation. Complete bright paper label. Minor wear only. Note the stamp – 25 Dec. 1951.
