Notes
Acknowledged in ‘The Great Book Of Dinky Toys’, this collector in the U.S. brings his 37 year collection to QDT. Included are some very rare items and a wealth of period literature and catalogues.
Issued in various colour finishes between 1954-59 before its brief re-numbering to 538. This is one of the most difficult of the 2nd type versions to find – model is finished in lemon-yellow with a deep green roof, silver trim, convex hubs, white tyres. A pleasing, all original example:
Barely a mark to the paint finish. The original smooth white tyres are rather grubby now.
Pictorial box is very crisp, clean and fresh. Tiny wear only.
Includes a little French Dinky promotional slip:
A difficult version to find.
