Corgi 268
Corgi 268 The Green Hornet's 'Black Beauty'. Near mint plus/boxed, with packing. Cast wheel issue. Functioning gadgets. With Secret Instruction Packet & packing card. Rare box version with same image on both box faces. From The Lake District Corgi Collection.
Notes
An exciting iconic T.V inspired Corgi model – typically harder to find than the James Bond models available during this period. Issued between 1968-72. This is a close to mint, all original example. Beautiful delicate roof logo is intact. Note that the radiator does gape open a little (often the case). Suspension is present on three wheels only.
Glossy finish and as-new original tyres.
Re the car’s gadgets i.e. front missile functions well. The boot opens when the lever is moved and the spinner flies off, as expected!
Couple of little exposed edge marks to the paint finish at the rear and a couple of flecks to the front chrome finish.
This example comes with the Secret Instruction Packet which has been opened (tear). Inside, are the Instructions, four scanners and three missiles.
The very attractive inner card stand has lots of atmospheric graphics. It is crisp, bright and clean. Just one little tear.
The outer box is a more difficult find with the same image on both box faces. Clean and colourful with light age/handling wear – and no tears!
With card packing piece.
