Notes
Issued between 1961-64, this is a rare and sought-after Gift Set!
The few examples that come to the market place nearly always have models with a poor, heavily pitted paint finish. The comparatively fragile boxes are particularly susceptible to wear.
This gold-plated set comprises:
1) 224 Bentley Continental, with light surface pitting to the finish. Intact bonnet emblem, red interior, spun wheels. Jewelled front and rear lights. Original, as-new grey tyres.
2) 229 Chevrolet Corvair, with the usual surface pitting to the finish, red interior. Smooth-running original tyres. A little corrosion to one area of the lower edge of the model on the passenger side.
3) 234 Ford Consul has a gold-plated base. Usual pitting to the surface of the model.
All three cars sit within a two-tier card tray which is bright and complete, with minor wear caused by the models.
Outer sleeve is bright and deeply-coloured, complete with intact original cellophane window notably.
Some creasing and storage wear and a lower edge seam tear. Corner ruffle and a storage ‘dip’ at one side.
Correct that this set comes with Accessory Pack C & D (still-sealed).
