Corgi 421
Corgi 421 Land Rover 109WB. Near mint plus. Very rare special issue - and the actual example pictured in The Great Book of Corgi. With accompanying Press Release. An exceptional item from The Mayfair Collection (originally from The Old School Collection).
Notes
This white Land-Rover was made to celebrate the ten millionth produced. It was a special issue made for senior company officials and certain toy dealer principals. Very rare. I have never seen another".
This Land Rover has survived very well indeed especially considering it was unboxed. The standard issued was issued between 1977-80 and finished in bright orange with a black roof rack and ladder, spare wheel.
This is one of the small batch finished in white to mark the achievement of selling 10 million Corgi Land Rover models!
This example has a bright red detailed interior, and intact black tow hook. Opening rear door. Window glazing. Grey bumper and base. White paper labels with ‘10 Millionth CORGI Land-Rover’ printed in blue on both doors. Minor age grubbiness. Few minor marks only to the paint finish. In all original condition.
Note this is the actual example pictured in The Great Book of Corgi, page 345.
How nice to have the accompanying Mettoy News Publicity Press Release which was the copy sent to Marcel Van Cleemput!
