Notes
We are delighted to offer for sale this rare promotional Vanwall model!
This promotional issue is an extremely difficult version to find. Tony Vandervell built the Vanwall Racing Car, driven by Stirling Moss. A very small quantity were produced with racing number 20 and printed Vandervell Products Ltd. information on the base.
This particular example was originally owned by the Quality Manager for Vandervell and was left to the current owner (his son) as part of his estate.
The model has a deep racing green finish, silver seat, driver figure, clear screen. Flat spun wheels. Suspension on well-shaped original fine tread tyres.
Hard to find any marks to the paint finish but note that under close inspection one will note that this Vandervell version used the suspension Vanwall in red and so traces of the original red paint can be seen. Note too that unlike the standard Corgi 150S this model does not bear the embossed lettering ’150’s, ‘Corgi Toys’ or ‘Vanwall’.
Blue and yellow picture box is complete and bright although showing some handling wear with a couple of small tears and an edge scuff. Corgi Club Memberhsip Form.
Related ephemera is included with this model most notably the period VANWALL brochure and the photograph of Sterling Moss at the end of a race.
