Dinky 991
Dinky 591/991 AEC Tanker "SHELL CHEMICALS". Very near mint/boxed (wear). Transition box from 1954. From The Cumbrian Collection.
Notes
Second issue made between 1955-58, this commercial truck has a bright red and yellow, original finish. Complete “SHELL CHEMICALS” lettering on both sides, and SHELL’ logo at the rear. 20 mph sign intact, too.
Barely a mark but the tyres are grubby now. Couple of small tarnished spots on the base.
The dual-numbered striped Dinky toys box marks the transition from the old numbering 591 to 991 which occurred during 1954. Bright and complete, although worn now. Rusting at the staples. Small area of surface loss at a lid end.
