A sought-after and scarce Gift Set (1966-68) – this is a late first issue and only available by Mail Order at the time.

“This is a late version as it comes with the 333 with cast wheels in a deeper red and dark blue RAC logo.
This version of 333 never came individually boxed and is very, very rare. It never ever came individually boxed.
This set comes with all the original inner packing. I have never seen another one with all the packing (inner and outer).
And a minor point perhaps: the 41 mail order Gift Sets never had cones supplied.
It is the best set I found and I had checked a lot of them in over 30 years.
Totally original, with no cars replaced.”
This exciting and colourful set comprises:
1) Corgi 1138 Ford Car Transporter in red, blue & silver. Version with ‘gold horns’ on the roof (scarce issue). Near mint plus. Occasional little chip on the top ramp toward the rear. Straight horns on the roof. Both wing mirrors are intact and complete with the little mirror pieces too. Complete chimney stack. Full complement of red plastic chocks.
2) Corgi 226 Morris Mini Minor in lilac blue with a red interior. Cast wheels. Some ‘bloomed’ spots. Near mint.
3) Corgi 249 Morris Mini Cooper in red & black with ‘wickerwork’ side detail. Mint.
4) Corgi 333 ‘SUN -Rally Mini’. Very rare issue in deep red with cast wheels. Correct that this version has the *dark blue RAC logo. Very, very near mint.
5) Corgi 252 Rover 2000 in metallic deep plum. Very near mint with a wonderful lustre.
6) Corgi 328 Sunbeam Imp. Very near mint.
7) Corgi 491 Ford Cortina Estate in red. Very near mint example with a sleek barely handled finish. Bright chrome (small flake). Jewelled headlights.
All contents are housed in a polystyrene tray which is bright and complete. Only the most minor wear. Complete with Corgi label with dog logo still in place.
The colourful card lid has certainly benefitted from being housed in the plain card over-sleeve for all these years.
Very fresh, with only the most minor wear.
Colours are day-one bright and fresh!
Outer card sleeve is clean and intact, with barely any wear.
