Dinky Gift Set 698

Notes

An impressive military Gift Set made between 1957-65. This set comprises:

1) Dinky 660 Mighty Antar Tank Transporter is in authentic condition – obviously unused and rarely handled, this model has a fine sheen to the deep military green finish. Early issue without window glazing. Bright axles and metal fittings. There are a few near-inevitable marks (e.g. where metal meets metal at the ramps, a couple where the tank rests on the bed). Such a difficult item to find absolutely mint!

2) Dinky 651 Centurion Tank has a pleasing sheen to the deep military green finish. Occasional little mark. Untarnished baseplate, and smooth supple tracks.

Of course, both items turn up regularly enough individually – but rarely as a Gift Set.
The cream card insert with backdrop is intact and bright with no wear at the wheel slots. Penned numbering. The usually missing cream card wedges are present too.

A very pleasing backdrop for both military pieces and adding to the desirability and value of this set.
The large striped Supertoys box is bright and complete.
Some of the usual edge/corner rubbing. Couple of faint stains and a few scuffs on one side. Traces of the old tape that kept the lid closed. Nice to see the 2 cream packing pieces too!
