Corgi 405M
Corgi 405M Bedford Fire Tender. Very near mint/boxed. Scarce earliest version in deep matte red, with push-fit axle & 'Patent pending' on base. With promotional booklet. From The Old School Collection. Bids are invited - please see the relevant section on our Faq Page. QDT starting bid £200. Please note that QDT apply 10% buyer's commission, with a ceiling of £100.
Notes
Issued 1956-59, this early Corgi emergency van is in original condition, with a deep red matte paint finish, flat spun wheels, complete ‘Fire Dept’ labels on both sides and the motorised function works perfectly.
For comparison only, please see this deeper version placed to the right alongside the slightly later scarlet version (although still with flat spun wheels):
Note the ‘Patent Pending’ cast at the rear of the base – another sign that this deep matte red version is the earliest model.
Just a couple of little front bumper marks.
The blue picture box is deeply-coloured and complete. Light age/handling wear only. Corgi promotional booklet is included.
