Notes
You would have to be a very lucky boy indeed to have received this fantastic Gift Set issued between 1964-70!
This set comprises five superb models :
1) Dinky 965 Euclid Rear Dump Truck. Excellent plus condition with a lemon-yellow paint finish. Slightly later issue with window glazing and plastic cuff on the winding handle. A few little touch-ins visible upon close scrutiny. Otherwise practically blemish-free. One tiny dot to one of the ‘Euclid’ logos, other is fine. Lettering is fine too.
2) Dinky 961 Blaw-Knox Bulldozer. In near mint plus condition with free running original tracks, correct plastic driver. Shining lemon-yellow and pale grey finish. Few small touch-ins.
Matte baseplate and shiny metal parts.
3) Dinky 960 Albion Chieftain Concrete Mixer. Very near mint condition with just a few incidental marks to the lustrous original paint finish. Bright baseplate and metal parts.
4) Dinky 962 Muir Hill Dumper in near mint condition with a very few little marks to the original lemon-yellow finish and a little graze at the underside edge of the tipper. Later issue with plastic front wheels.
5) Dinky 437 Muir Hill Loader in bright deep red finish. Very near mint condition.
Virtually complete ‘Taylor Woodrow’ transfer at rear.
Box insert is in fresh, clean condition with just the expected paint markings from the models here and there. No tears to the wheel slots and no graffiti.
The sturdy outer box is complete, clean and bright. Area of surface loss due to the removal of a sticker. The odd crease and traces from the original sellotape which held the lift-up lid box closed. Light wear.
An exciting and unusual find – the second example we have handled in over twenty years of dealing. Certainly one of the best surviving examples. An impressive set on display.
