Dinky 962
Dinky 962 Muir-Hill Dumper Truck. Near mint plus/boxed. From 1956. Early issue from The Cumbrian Collection
Notes
Issued during 1954-66, this particular example has a fresh, gleaming pale yellow paint finish and comes complete with the familiar driver in his pale brown workman’s garb.
Early issue with metal wheels:
A nicely-constructed toy; the driver can be made to swivel with his seat, and the dumper tips. Tow hook and red painted hubs. No sunfading. Bright baseplate. These dumper trucks are so often found with many chips. This model has a chip largely covered by the tipping section and minute scrutiny has found a couple of little touch-ins.
The striped Supertoys box is brightly -coloured and complete with no splits or tears. Minor age/handling wear. Rusty staples. Shopkeeper’s period price is written on one lid end.
Dinky stamp inside the lid dates this particular example from 1956.
