Corgi 277
Corgi 277 Monkeemobile. Very, very near mint/boxed, with HEADER CARD (age wear). Superb model & box! A remarkable find from The Old School Collector.
Notes
Incredibly difficult to find – this colourful detachable header card was given out, we surmise, to just a few of the larger Corgi shops at the time when a retailer box of Monkeemobiles was ordered.
Only the third we have ever offered for sale. It has a little age wear/creasing at the tuck-in tabs and a little uniform grubbiness. No parts missing. No graffiti.
The Monkeemobile model was inspired by the t.v. show ‘The Monkees’ and was issued between 1968-72. A superb example with a bright red finish, white roof (notably unblemished – a fine example since often the paint finish on the white roof can tend to be thin), detailed cast wheels and well-shaped tyres. All four figures inside the Monkeemobile!
Complete ‘Monkees’ transfers on both sides. Bright chrome engine detail. Notably, none of the usual dots/rubs on the white roof.
Two or three mere dots to the paint finish.
Crisp, card and cellophane box has smooth original intact cellophane. Fresh and brightly-coloured, looking as-new.
Very small area of surface loss at an end flap. Period dollar price label nearby.
