Dinky 161
Dinky 161 Austin Somerset Saloon. Scarce red & yellow version. Near mint plus/boxed. From The 25 Year Collection.
Notes
This eye-catching red and yellow classic Dinky car was issued between 1956-59.
A desirable and sought-after version in brightest red and yellow finish. In honest, all original condition, happily free of the touch-ins that these high profile Dinky models seem to incur.
Shiny base and the smooth tyres have no flat spots.
Note the couple of (as-made) rough cast areas and the small area of ‘bubbling’ to the paint on the roof. As-made. Axle ends are rather tarnished now.
The pictorial box with the red and yellow version pictured, is bright and complete, bearing the correct colour spot at the end flaps. Couple of little end flap corner crumples and a tiny end flap tear. Pencilled writing on the top surface. Light wear besides.
