Notes
From a collection with more than its fair share of surprises and rarities, we feel that this Counter Display box for 12 James Bond Toyota models has to be its ultimate highlight.
Looking like an over-sized individual box for the Corgi 336, this Counter Display Box has a flip up section as one might expect in order to display the 12 boxed models inside (now empty, we have to say).
Colours are vibrant and the artwork depicts the familiar scene from the box of Corgi 336.
Light storage wear (note a little shelf grubbiness on the underside) and a very small handling tear at the corners of the push-out section. Couple of tiny tears at the back edge of the lid (seam). Period penned ‘336’ on one side. Light wear besides.
This is the only example we have ever seen. We surmise that these boxes were sent to a very few of the larger shops such as Harrods etc. at the time, and surely this would have been a display item to exhibit at the toy fair during 1967.
What an unbeatable sight – once filled with 12 Corgi 336 James Bond Toyotas! We would love to see that.
For display only, and for collectors to get an idea of scale, we have Corgi 336 pictured along with the box:
