Dinky 502
Dinky 502 Foden Flat Truck. Very near mint/boxed (wear). Scarce 2nd type issue in burnt orange and green. With export label. From The Edinburgh Collection.
Notes
In all original condition, this rare colour version was issued from 1952-54. 2nd type has a distinctive burnt orange finish, mid-green back, matching Supertoy wheels and fine tread original black radial tyres. Tank slits and chain post bosses. Shiny and fresh original paint finish so this example displays extremely well. Just the usual chip at the tow hook.
20 mph transfer is still in place.
Critical scrutiny will find a few tiny marks.
The deep blue picture box shows the second type cab variation. It is bright and complete, although note the odd scuff or two and a nick to the paper label at one lid end. Note the shopkeeper/owner was most insistent that this was a 902 model (penned writing at lid end). Probably a 1954 issue – the year when the 502 model was re-numbered 902 Export issue – note the ‘Hudson Dobson’ label.
