Corgi Gift Set 16

Notes

A most popular and sought-after Gift Set from Corgi, issued 1961-1965.

It comprises:
1) Ecurie Ecosse Transporter has a vivid metallic blue finish, shaped spun wheels, lemon interior and a light grey base. Sliding side doors, window glazing and a drop down ramp at the rear. Pale blue lettering at the sides. Able to ‘transport’ the three racing cars included with this set.
Condition: excellent plus with a few little chips and a silver highlight detail added to the cast arrow on the rear section. Minute inspection finds that there are a few little retouches to the light blue highlighting. Not visible unless examined very closely!

2) 150S Vanwall in vermillion with racing number 25, driver, flat spun wheels with suspension.
Condition: Near mint plus. A few small marks. Box is complete and bright if rather rubbed in places.

3) 152S B.R.M model finished in green, racing number 7. Few little marks at the rear and a couple of racing number nicks. Near mint plus. Box is complete clean and bright, with a crisp feel. Light wear.

4) 154 Ferrari Formula 1 Car. Near mint. One of the racing numbers has a little loss. Tarnishing to the roll bar. Box is crisp, complete and bright. Light wear only.

Lift-off Lid Box is attractive with bright clean colours. Minor wear and a little light marking/light wear besides. Trace of old tape at a couple of corners. Period price label. Comes with the original inner packing.

Important to note that this is not a later made-up set, since these items were all available individually at the time.
