Corgi Gift Set 40

Notes

This attractive Gift Set was inspired by the t.v. show ‘The Avengers’ and is in close to perfect condition, issued between 1966-69.
It comprises:
1) John Steed’s Bentley in red and black finish, complete with all parts, and including the figure of John Steed at the wheel. Very near mint condition. Silver spoked wheels. Fine original tyres.

The occasional small mark to the black running boards.

2) Emma Peel’s Lotus Elan S2 is in bright, white finish. Very, very near mint, original condition with barley a mark! Suspension on shaped spun wheels. Fine original tyres. Original figure of Emma Peel.
This set comes with three plastic umbrellas. These are notably the originals – so often they can go astray, particularly bearing in mind how small they are and how they were never stored in a packet but merely slotted into holes on the plinth. So many that we see have (pretty decent) replacements but they do lack the fine detailing of the originals. These originals have the furling details to the ‘rolled-up’ cloth part of the umbrella and delicate details on the handle, fine point at the base. Little details perhaps but really nice to see!
Inner card plinth has bright graphics. Couple of little wheel slot tears and a few light surface marks besides. Just one pull tab present at one end now. Card packing piece in the base.

Outer box is complete and bright. Some age/storage wear includes a little creasing, and the occasional very small tear. and a couple of small compass point punctures on a non-picture side. Pen mark at an end flap.
