Corgi Gift Set 40. The Avengers. Very near mint - very, very near mint/boxed. Very scarce first issue with GREEN BENTLEY. From 'Gordon's Collection' - a high quality gathering of some of the most popular and sought-after models.
Notes
This is the first issue version with the rare green Bentley.
Issued between 1966-69, this set would have been released at the start of the production run.
The set comprises:
1)John Steed’s Bentley in green and black finish, correct for this set with red metal wire wheels. Complete with all parts, and including the figure of John Steed at the wheel. In very close to mint condition (small mark on the bonnet). Fine original tyres.
2) Emma Peel’s Lotus Elan S2 is in sparkling white finish. Virtually mint . Suspension on shaped spun wheels. Fine original tyres. Original figure of Emma Peel.
Three plastic umbrellas – notably all authentic, original examples.
Inner card plinth is bright with vivid illustrations. Complete with both pull-tags at the sides and the original card packing piece which slides into the base of the plinth. Light wear and a little ‘dip’ to one top edge. Couple of very minor tears. Lower edge corner crumple.
The colourful card outer box is complete and bright. Crisp feel, and no tears. Very minor age wear only. Corgi Club Membership Form. Period pencilled price at an end flap.
