Dinky 186
Dinky 186 Mercedes Benz 220 SE. RAF blue issue. Very near mint /boxed. From 'The Smith Collection' - one owner from new models.
Notes
The owner tells us:
All of the models from The Smith Collection were bought by the same young boy on a weekly basis when they were released, and kept by the same collector unplayed with and in many cases never taken out of their boxes, right up until the present day. Rather unusual for a lad to buy toys and not play with them but he was a collector from a very young age!
Issued between 1961-67, this model is finished in a very attractive and distinctive shade of blue with a detailed cream interior, shining silver fittings, including a notably intact bonnet emblem.
Shiny shaped spun wheels with suspension. Minute inspection finds a very few tiny marks. The lighter yellow picture box is bright and very crisp. ‘Light storage ’dip’ on the top surface and a little grubbiness too. No tears. Period price at an end flap.
