D112
Dinky 112 Austin Healey Sprite. Rare SOUTH AFRICAN issue in turquoise Near mint plus/boxed. The only example we have ever handled in this colour finish! From The DC Collection.
Notes
Unfinished models were exported to South Africa from 1966. They were sent as castings and painted and assembled there largely as a way of getting around the laws prohibiting export of finished goods to South Africa at this time. All housed in Dinky boxes with some Afrikaans text and of course most importantly the Arthur E.Harris print on the box._
A most appealing Austin Healey Sprite model finished in turquoise with shiny spun wheels, silver trim, South African (distinctive) rivets, shiny base and as-new fine tread tyres.
In close to mint, original condition:
A little underspray (factory) on a door and a few light marks on the boot (minor). Tiny faint mark or two on the bonnet (being extra fussy here).
The correct Arthur E. Harris Dinky box is complete and brightly-coloured, with no heavy wear. Internal end flap has a tear and there are a couple of very small starts of tears besides. Minor age wear.
One of the rarest Dinky models.
