2 x period Black and White Photographs found in the office of the Chief Designer for Corgi, Marcel Van Cleemput. Barris Kustom City Photographs with Frank Sinatra pictured! From The MBU Collection
Notes
Discovered in the office of Marcel Van Cleemput the chief designer for Corgi, this is just a sample of the many ephemera items given to the MBU Collector as a thank you for his help with ‘The Great Book of Corgi’.
2 x Barris Kustom City period photographs:
1) Frank Sinatra and George Barris (the latter created the innovative features of The Batmobile for the Batman ABC television series) in front of a Zebra Mustang! Amazing – and this must have been a Corgi project that never came to fruition ( a shame).
2) Plymouth Fireball 500 Barracuda as featured in the stock car racing fiilm Fireball 500 (1966) with Annette Funicello (lead female) pictured. Another shelved Corgi project, sadly.
Both large photographs have Barris stamps on the reverse.
