D903
Dinky 503/903 Foden Flat Truck with Tailboard. Violet blue and bright orange version. Near mint plus/boxed. Harder to find transition box issue from 1954. From The 25 Year Collection.
Notes
Second type cab issue of this Dinky truck made between 1952-56.
This gleaming bright Supertoy model has a violet blue cab and chassis and a vivid orange back (not dull), paler blue grooved hubs. As-new, original black radial tyres. Shiny base (bolt fixing) and a fine lustre throughout with excellent original silver detailing at radiator, headlights and bumper.
Presents well in this eye-catching colour combination. Outstanding lustre!
A few little marks – e.g. at tailboard top edge.
An honest example with no retouches.
The harder to find dual-numbered box marks the transition from the earlier 503 numbering to 903 (1954). So this issue has DINKY TOYS (not Supertoys printed). Very fresh and bright box, showing absolutely minimal wear. The deep blue lower half of the box has none of the expected shelf wear on the underside. Dinky stamp inside the box lid dates this example from October 1954.
Very nice!
