4 x Corgi Classic Pre-Production Mercedes 300SL Samples. With the Corgi Auction Certificates and Auction Numbers (June1993). Interesting lot with provenance from The MBU Collection.
Notes
Purchased at the Corgi Auction at the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust in 1993, complete with the original certificates and Lot Number Tokens:
1) Lot 47 contains 2 examples of Mercedes 300SL, production numbers 96410 & 96415, although slightly different to the production model.
a) one open top in red with red seating, chrome trim, intact screen. Black side panels. Complete number plates. Diecast. Rivetted base. Very, very near mint.
b) Cream with a black hood and black side panels, red interior silver trim. Diecast. Rivetted base. Complete number plates. Very, very near mint.
2) Lot 7 – Resin pre-production sample in red with a cream interior, with red detailed wheels with Mercedes emblem. Silver trim. As in the auction, the front bumper has been affixed into place with Blu-tac. Very near mint.
3) Lot 49 – Resin pre-production sample in cream with a red interior, with cream detailed wheels with Mercedes emblem. Silver trim. No front bumper. Wear to windscreen base.
