D905
Dinky 905 Foden Flat Truck with Chains. Maroon with red Supertoy wheels. Very near mint/boxed. From June 1954. From a collector in Northamptonshire.
Notes
This appealing Dinky commercial truck has a deep, lustrous, maroon paint finish, and of course, more unusual with red grooved Supertoy wheels.
Precisely dated from June 1954 due to the Dinky stamp inside the box lid. The condition belies its age – it is hard to find a mark -but closest painstaking scrutiny under magnification finds a couple of subtle (later) touch-ins. Note the 20 mph sign still in place at one rear wheel arch and there is scarcely any of the usual rubbing to the straight chain post tops. Bright original chain and metal parts too.
Rounded (not dimpled) chain post bosses underneath. 9 well-shaped black radial tyres.
The striped dual-numbered Supertoys box is complete, clean and bright with just a little rubbing, minor age/handling wear. Very small area of surface loss.
