D100
Dinky 100 Lady Penelope's Fab 1. Very near mint/boxed. Non-fluorescent pink, with clear sliding roof. Silver painted base. Rarest wheel version. From The Heart of England Collection.
Notes
Inspired by the Gerry Anderson Thunderbirds T.V. series from the ’60’s. This Fab 1 model is finished in non-fluorescent pink, with a clear sliding roof, scarce with a silver-painted base.
Such a difficult find with these wheels – more usually found presented in the ’tall’’ window box.
Gold interior and both original seated figures of Lady Penelope and Parker. It comes complete with an intact bonnet emblem, jewelled headlights and intact front and rear number plates. Distinctive (and the rarest version) wheels with raised central circular section surrounded by five rounded indentations. More often found in the tall bubble pack, but feasible for this earlier box presentation too.
The Fab 1 presents very well indeed. Old shop stock quality piece with just one small flake of paint on the driver’s side immediately below the sliding roof. The sliding roof is perfectly intact and slides nicely. The car comes complete with a firing rocket and four rear harpoons. Original (opened) packet is still present. Usual staple marks where it was attached to the inner.
The colourful card stand is crisp and bright, although there is some rubbing to the black card where the car sits (this is a heavy vehicle), and just one small tear.
Instructions are on the reverse of the card stand, detailing how to fire the front rocket and rear harpoons.
The pictorial card box is complete and bright with a crisp feel. Looks fresh and rarely handled. Lightest wear only.. No tears or graffiti.
One of the most sought-after Gerry Anderson inspired Dinky models!
