Notes
Dinky commercial Prototypes from the heyday of Dinky rarely come to the market place.
This model went in to production under its earliest numbering (533) during 1953.
The Prototype for this model is composed of a diecast cab and chassis with grooved Supertoy wheels and grey radial tyres. Hand-painted in vivid saffron yellow with a well-constructed lightweight wooden back in the same colour finish. Note the careful hand-painted lettering throughout, which includes the Ferrocrete logo on the cab doors. Remarkable.
Rear axle is located beneath cast lugs. Spare wheel is stowed. Bolt fixing. DINKY SUPERTOYS on the base.
Some wear to the paint finish in places.
Purchased by the current owner from Christies Auction House in London, during the 1990’s.
