Notes
A note from the owner:
“From a counter display of 12 – the one I missed at The Sandown Toyfair (see Blog). Ex Nigel Loveland. Interesting to note that in looking at 6 of these to select the best, they all had faults somewhere. This was the best I found, trouble is a huge amount of toys came out of the factory damaged due to the very manual process of assembly (shown in The Great Book of Corgi). One of the Toyotas I looked at had no steering wheel! Unopened Instructions and nearly perfect in all respects”.
Inspired by the James Bond film “You Only Live Twice”, this Toyota model was made during 1967-69. Displays very well with both figures present, intact aerial, jewelled front and rear lights, complete registration numbers at front and rear, and wire wheels. Suspension is fine.
Little chip at boot edge and a couple of mere dots besides.
The clean Secret Instructions Packet is still-sealed so assumed compete with all of its components.
The colourfully illustrated card plinth has wonderfully vivid graphics/art work. Day-one crisp feel and no wheel slot tears. All four push-out tabs at the wheel slots still present. Exceptional.
The outer box looks close to shop-fresh. So difficult to find this good! Minor, in the print ‘speckling’ at an end flap.
Nice to see that this example comes with both original packing pieces too.
