D129
Dinky 129 M.G. Midget Sports. Very near mint/boxed (vivid box with hand-written period note). Scarce U.S. issue. Cream version. From a high quality collection in Australia.
Notes
Dinky 108 was issued briefly as an U.S. export model in both red and cream.
This cream version is in splendid, all original, very close to pristine condition, with attractive, lustrous dark plum-red seats, lighter red ridged wheels, intact original windscreen, correct without driver, but correct with hole for driver cast in seat. Correct without racing numbers.
Lustrous original finish throughout.
Bright baseplate and well-shaped smooth original tyres.
Correct that the number 108 is printed on the base since a special baseplate for the U.S. issue was never made.
Little rub mark to the central bonnet line and micro-examination finds the occasional tiny dot.
The picture box is really fresh, clean and bright. Correct colour spot. Barely any wear. Note the endearing period note neatly handwritten on the inside surface of one end flap:
