D12D
Group of early Dinky Accessory Figures. Near mint plus-very near mint/boxed (wear). From The 25 Year Collection.
Notes
This group of shopkeeper’s Trade Boxes comprises a selection of delightful factory hand-painted figures from 1946-59:
1) Trade Box of Dinky 13A Cook’s Man (1). Near mint plus. ‘0’ Gauge. Scarce promotional items for Thomas Cook Travel. The shopkeeper would sell these one at a time to customers from this box. Just one remaining in this deep green end flap card box with lighter green paper label. Penned writing on box (we surmise shopkeeper’s notes of how many he had left to sell). Small section of the green label missing and repaired tear to one small end flap.
Issued between 1952-54.
2 Trade Box of Dinky 12D Telegraph Messengers (2). ‘0’ Gauge. Near mint plus.
The shopkeeper would sell these one at a time to customers from this box. Just two remaining in this deep green end flap card box with lighter green paper label. Penned writing on box (we surmise shopkeeper’s notes of how many he had left to sell). Minor wear and tear.
Issued between 1946-54.
3) *Trade Box of Dinky 12E Postmen *(1). ‘0’ Gauge. Near mint plus.
The shopkeeper would sell these one at a time to customers from this box. Just one remaining in this deep green end flap card box with lighter green paper label.
