Notes
This collector wanted only the best examples in his collection – always a discerning buyer of the finest examples he could find. After over 25 years, he has now decided to part with items from his own extensive collection.
This is one of them.
A classic Dinky Supertoy model issued between 1954-60. The horse box has a bright and shining maroon body cast in aluminium. “EXPRESS HORSE BOX HIRE SERVICE” transfers and “BRITISH RAILWAYS” labels (occasional little nick).
Presents well with a glossy, barely handled finish.
20 mph sign is in place on the hinged rear ramp. Occasional little mark may be seen.
The striped ‘Supertoys’ picture box is bright and largely unrubbed, with no splits or graffiti. ‘LF’ label in place. Minor age wear only. Rusty staples. Small light box stain. Dinky stamp inside the box lid dates this particular example from 1957. The two original packing wedges are still present, although two of the thin strips are detached now. Deep blue lower half of the box has a little lighter area ( the portion exposed to the light/not covered by the lid).
