What a rare Gift Set this is to add to your Dinky collection!
This 3 part Gift Set was issued during 1959 (during first year of production, which ran 1959-65), and comprises:
1) Dinky 257 Fire Chief’s Car with shaped spun wheels and window glazing (windscreen crack), small red light on the roof, complete ‘Fire Chief’ lettering on both doors.
Vivid red finish throughout, with a chip on one front wing and a few tiny marks besides. Little stray dab of factory silver on one side. Matt base and well-shaped original tyres.

2) Dinky 955 Fire Engine has an all original vivid red paint finish, ridged Supertoy wheels, bright baseplate and both ladder components and bells present. None of the usual chipping/wear to the bright silver ladder.A light sprinkling of little marks to the paint finish.

3) Dinky 956 Turntable Fire Escape has a bright red finish, window glazing, silver platform, and ridged Supertoy wheels. Both bright bells are present on the cab roof one is tarnished as is one of the winding handle cuffs). Winding handle operates the raising and lowering of the two-piece extending ladder. Few little marks at exposed edges.
Close scrutiny reveals a few little touch-ins.

The bright , eye-catching outer box has no seam splits, graffiti or repairs.

The colours are vibrant, the box is complete. Minor grubbiness/wear and note the strips of surface loss where old tape has been removed.

Nice to see that both inner packing pieces are still present ( light ‘foxing’ grubbiness and marking from the models).
