D919
Dinky 919 Guy Van "Golden Shred". Near mint/boxed. From 1957. One of the most eye-catching Dinky Advertising Vans. From The BST Collection.
Notes
Issued between 1957-58, the golden age of Dinky! This is one of the most eye-catching Dinky models you can buy and it is always an exciting find. This sought-after van has a vibrant red paint finish throughout and highly decorative transfers on both sides. Bright base and well-shaped original tyres.
A very few tiny marks to the paint finish – and closest inspection will find the occasional little retouch ( e.g. two subtle touch-ins on the ‘S’ and ‘H’ of ‘SHRED’ on one side, and another on the ‘E of ’SHRED’ on the other).
The box presents very well indeed – vibrant colours on clean, undamaged card. Barely any wear at all – including the deep blue (unfaded) box base. Period penned prices at one lid end. This example is dated from 1957 (Dinky stamp on the inside of the box lid).
A highlight in any collection.
