C158
Corgi 158 Lotus-Climax F/1. & Corgi 159 Cooper-Maserati F1. Very near mint/boxed. Both with leaflets. From The Monty Calme Collection.
Notes
1) The Lotus Racing Car is in the slightly later window box presentation (first issue came in the all card pictorial box). It has a deep orange and white finish and complete racing number 8 labels on the bonnet stripe and both side (minor age transparency). Driver controlled steering. Complete with racing driver, aerofoils, both wing mirrors and an intact windscreen.
The box is very fresh, crisp and bright with intact smooth original cellophane. Virtually shop-fresh quality (light creasing on underside).
2) Issued between 1969-72. This Cooper-Maserati Racing Car has a deep yellow and white finish, with a black body stripe, racing number 3, cast wheels. Superb example – tilt the driver from side to side and he ‘steers’ the car!
One tarnishing to the aerofoil and a little age-transparency tho the labels.
The crisp, bright box is difficult to prise open. The colours are so bright, clean and fresh! Smooth original, intact cellophane. Small fleck of surface loss at one end flap.
Also included in both is the Features Leaflet which incorporates a Corgi Club Membership Form.
