C803
Corgi 803 The Beatles Yellow Submarine. Red hatches issue. Near mint plus/boxed. From The Monty Calme Collection.
Notes
A sought-after Corgi model in original condition with all four figures of John, Paul, George and Ringo.
Red hatches issue.
All transfers look bright and fresh and the periscope is undamaged, rotating when the model is pushed along. Hatches open and close well.
Few marks to the paint finish and a couple of tiny transfer nicks. Intact plastic propellor (although note that one of the blades is bent slightly backwards (often these fragile blades are broken off).
The box is complete, with deep blue inner (couple of small tears – this type of plastic becomes so fragile and brittle over time, and this example has fared better than many we have seen).
Box colours are fresh and vivid with lots of atmospheric artwork. Light crease where the header card section meets the main body of the box. Minor age/handling wear besides. Cellophane window has a couple of tiny tears.
Overall, a very pleasing example of this popular and iconic original toy!
