Notes
A small range of Corgi models (5 in total) were gold plated in 1961 and were sold by Marks & Spencer. Few are available and are sought-after nowadays, even if they did not sell particularly well at the time.
This Vanwall model is in very fine original condition with the distinctive mirror plated finish. Never removed from its plinth.
Note that the wheels have surface corrosion now.
The racing car is mounted on a black moulded base with a gold-edged name label. Also present is the piece of clear perspex which fits over the model when on the stand.
The special Trophy box is complete, crisp, clean and bright, with minimal age/handling wear. One end flap bears the Vanwall label.
