Corgi Gift Set 38 1965 Monte Carlo Rally. Near mint-very near mint/boxed. Scarce set from The Corbridge Collection.
Notes
This scarce original Gift Set in all original condition comprises:
1) Corgi 318 Mini Cooper ‘S’ in bright red finish with a white roof, jewelled head and spotlights, racing number ‘52’ on both sides (tiny nick), Monte Carlo labels on bonnet (one tiny nick) and boot (nick), shaped spun wheels with suspension. Wear with tarnishing to the sump guard.
2) Corgi 322 Rover 2000 in shining metallic maroon finish with a white roof, Monte Carlo labels on bonnet and boot (wear to the bonnet label), racing number ‘136’ on both doors (tiny nick to one). Shaped spun wheels with suspension, jewelled headlights and “Trans-O-Lite” lights. In near mint plus condition.
3) Corgi 323 Citroen DS19 in pale blue finish with a white roof. Very near mint condition. Shaped spun wheels with suspension, jewelled lights, intact aerial on the roof. Racing number ‘75’ on both sides, Rally labels on bonnet and boot. Complete labels throughout. Small mark on the bonnet front edge.
The very detailed card plinth on which each car sits still has some of the push-out slots where the cars sit, unpunched! One of the very small end flaps is missing. Usual age wear besides. No graffiti. Minor back edge tear. Original card piece within the plinth base.
The pictorial all-card outer box is complete and quite brightly-coloured, although grubby in places now. Very small tear. Minor age wear besides. Corgi Club Membership Form is included.
