D531
Dinky 531 Leyland Comet Lorry. Near mint/boxed. Violet blue and orange-yellow version, grooved Supertoy wheels. From The 25 Year Collection.
Notes
Issued between 1949-54 in various colour finishes, this version has a bright violet blue and deep orange-yellow finish with red ridged Supertoy wheels.
Untarnished baseplate and well-shaped, pliant, original treaded tyres:
Occasional very minor mark and a dribble of stray paint residue or similar on the cab roof ( which may be possible to remove).
The sheen throughout shows that this truck has been very carefully handled and stored – the paint has lost none of its lustre.
The early deep blue box with a picture label is complete and repair-free, with generally vibrant colours (particularly the violet blue). Slight fading the orange and white paper label. Note that there are two Antique Toy shops stamps (Michigan) on the inside surface of the base and lid.
Dinky product number changes (417 and 931) at one lid end.
Issued between 1949-54 under this 531 numbering.
