C499
Corgi 499 Citroen Safari 1968 Winter Olympics "Grenoble". Very near mint/boxed. Complete with both figures and Instructions. From The Monty Calme Collection.
Notes
The most difficult to find of the three Citroen Winter Sports vehicles made by Corgi, this “Grenoble” issue is an outstanding unused example.
All delicate roof parts are complete and intact. Ski-ing and figure on sled are still present.
A beautifully detailed perfect “Grenoble” transfer on the bonnet of this white and blue Citroen.
Shaped spun wheels with suspension. The opening tailgate reveals where the skier and tobogganist can be stowed away safely in the back of the car (the rear seats may be folded down). Few little marks at this vulnerable site. Hard to fault otherwise.
The colourful cellophane-fronted header card box is complete, really fresh and bright. So crisp! Note the large header card stands up straight (so often found floppy).
A real beauty – with intact original cellophane too.
Small puncture to the card insert (caused by movement of the model in the box).
This model comes complete with the Instruction Slip which doubles as a Corgi Club Membership Form.
A very attractive example of this popular Corgi Olympic-inspired Citroen.
