C403
Corgi 403 Bedford Van 'EXPRESS TOOLS' . Unique item originally the property of Marcel Van Cleemput. An extremely rare item from The Monty Calme Corgi Collection.
Notes
The Monty Calme landmark Corgi Collection, covering the width and breadth of Corgi models amassed over decades by an exuberant collector. The Monty Calme collection is a truly astonishing gathering of the best of Corgi models and ephemera, including rare and unique pieces and point of sale items. The largest collection we have ever seen.
Originally sold through us in 2006 , from an Austrian collector who had become a friend of Marcel Van Cleemput. During one of his visits to the Corgi designer’s home, this Bedford Van was purchased from him. We sold this model to ‘Monty Calme’ in 2006.
The model is uniquely factory finished in mid-metallic blue with flat spun wheels, a smooth roof, clear window glazing, silver trim, shiny base. ’EXPRESS TOOLS" lettering and details are rubbed in places now. Few small black spots on one side and one on the other side, both near the front wheel arch. Otherwise, close to mint.
An extract from the Austrian Collector’s letter in 2006 which is a general letter of Provenance for the purchaser of his models:
